  This tutorial was written using PSP X but should work
   in other versions with just a few adjustments.
   It was written in "split screen" format so that
   you can work on the tutorial with PSP open on one
   side of your screen and the tutorial on the other side.
   
Supplies Needed

    Filters Needed:

      Xero - Porcelain HERE

     All supplies needed will be provided for you.
     I encourage you to use tubes and backgrounds of your choice

     and make this your own "original" creation

1.   File > Open > background pattern_1_rec

      Layers > Promote Background Layer

 

      Effects > 3D Effects > Xero > Porcelain

        Settings: Default settings

        50, 128, 128, 0, 0, 255

 

2.   File > Open > JHanna_166_tube_030709

      Window > Duplicate and close the original

      Image > Resize

       Settings: height of 350 pxs - Width will self adjust

                         Check both Lock Aspect Ratio and

                         Resize All Layers

      Image > Mirror

      Edit > Copy and minimize

      Edit > Paste as New Layer onto your main image

      Use Move Tool to move to bottom left

 

3.   Layers > Duplicate

      In Layer Palette, select Raster 2, your original tube layer

 

      Effects > Distortion Effects > Wind

       Settings: From Right > 90

      Effects > Distortion Effects > Wind

       Settings: From Left > 90

      Edit > Repeat Wind

      Effects > Distortion Effects > Wave

       Settings: 14, 1, 1, 1, Wrap

      Edit > Repeat Wave

 

      In Layer Palette, set Blend Mode on Screen

 

4.   Now we're going to move our main tube again.

      In Layer Palette, select Copy of Raster 2

     

      Use your Move Tool to place the tube as shown here

    

 

5.   Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel

       Settings: Bevel #2

                         8, 0, 1, 0, 0, White, 315, 50, 30

      Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow

        Settings:  2, 2, 60, 5, Black

      Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow

        Settings: -2, -2, 20, 5, Black

 

6.   File > Open > HD_Parrot Tulip_YellowGreen4

      Image > Resize 

       Settings: 75%

      Edit > Copy

      Edit > Paste as a New Layer onto your main image

 

      In Layer Palette, set Blend Mode on Overlay

      Use your Move Tool to move to upper left corner

 

      Image > Free Rotate

        Settings: Right > 45 degrees

      Use your Move Tool to move into place

       (See example at top for placement)

       (Note:  If needed, move this tube layer below your main tube layer)

 

7.   File > Open > prettyju_cadre_89

      Edit > Copy

      Edit > Paste as New Layer onto your main image

      In Layer Palette, set Blend Mode to Screen

 

      Use the Move Tool to move this layer to the left

       (See example at top for placement)

      In Layer Palette, move this layer below Copy of Raster 2

 

8.   Layers > Duplicate

       (this will duplicate your cadre 89 frame)

      Image > Resize

       Settings: 50%  Resize all layers NOT checked

      Layers > Arrange > Bring to Top

       Use your Move Tool to move this frame to the upper right side

       In Layer Palette, set Blend Mode on Multiply

 

      Selections > Select All

      Selections > Float

      Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel

        Settings:  Bevel #2

                           8, 40, 2, 21, 10, White, 315, 50, 30

      Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow (last used setting)

      Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow

         Settings: Repeat with positive settings 2 and 2

      Selections > Select None

 

9.   Reactivate main tube (JHanna_166_tube_030709)

       It should still be minimized and resized

      Image > Mirror

      Use your Selection Tool to make a circular selection

        Settings: Circle, Add (Shift), Feather 1, Anti-alias checked

      Your image should look something like this

 

     

     

   

       Image > Resize

        Setting: 75%

 

       Edit > Copy  (minimize - Do not close)

       Edit > Paste as a New Layer onto your main image

       Use your Move Tool to move image inside of the frame

 

       In Layer Palette, set Blend Mode on Luminance

           and set opacity at 70-75%

       Layers > Arrange > Move Down

 

10.  File > Open > background pattern _rec_03

        Layers > Promote Background Layer

       

  

        Effects >  Image Effects > Seamless Tiling

         Setting: default setting

        Minimize

 

        In Material Palette, set this pattern as your background

         Settings: Angle 45, Scale 100

        In Material Palette, set your foreground to #4d3918 or black

 

        Image > Add Borders

         Setting: 1 px of foreground color

        Selections > Select All

        Selections >  Modify > Contract

          Setting: 1 pixel

        Effects > 3 D Effects > Cutout

          Settings: 0, 0, 100, 15, Black

        Selections > Select None

 

11.  In Material Palette, change foreground to a shade of yellow

       from your image.  I used #fbe163

 

       Image > Add Borders

        Setting: 30 pixels, foreground color

       Select this border with your Magic Wand

      

       Layers >  Add a New Raster Layer

       Use Flood Fill tool to fill this layer with background pattern

       Adjust > Blur > Gaussian Blur

         Setting: 10

       Effects > 3DEffects > Inner Bevel

         Settings: Bevel #2, 8, 35, 1, 0, 0, White, 315, 50, 30

       In Layer Palette, adjust opacity to liking.  I used 82

       Selections > Select None

       Image > Add Border 

         Settings: 1 pixel black

 

       Layers > Promote Background Layer

       Effects > 3D Effects > Xero > Porcelain

          (Note: You may repeat this for a softer effect)

 

 

12.  Image > Canvas Size

        Settings: 725 x 525, Left Center Arrow

           Change Left to 15

       

 

       Layers > New Raster Layer

       Layers > Arrange > Send to Bottom

       In Material Palette, change Angle of background pattern to 0

       Use Flood Fill Tool to right click and fill layer with pattern

 

       Effects > Distortion Effects > Wave  (same settings)

       Effects > 3D Effects > L en K landsiteofwonders > L en K's Djin

         Settings: 100, 18

       Effects > Edge Effects > Enhance

 

       Layers > Duplicate

       Image > Flip

          Change opacity of this layer to 50%

       Layers > Merge > Merge Down

 

       With your Selection Tool, click on Custom Selection

         Settings: Top 60, Left 20, Right 620, Bottom 460

       Edit > Clear  (or hit Delete on your keyboard)

       Selections > Select None

 

13.  Reactivate your image of the woman with the circular selection

        Edit > Copy

        Edit > Paste as a New Layer

        Layers > Arrange > Bring to Top

        Image > Resize   

          Settings: 50%  All Layers not checked

        Use your Move Tool to move to the right border area

        Layers > Duplicate  - Repeat so that you have 3 images

        Arrange the 3 images along the right border area

 

        Layers > Merge > Merge Down

        Repeat this step to merge all 3 layers

        In Layer Palette, set Blend Mode on Soft Light

         and adjust Opacity to your liking  (I used 65%)  

 

14.  Apply a Text of your choice to the right side.

         I used Create as Vector

         I used Funhouse font at size 36 - direction vertical and left

         Layers > Convert to Raster Layer

        Effects > 3DEffects > Inner Bevel

           Settings: Bevel #2, 22, 17, 3, -30, 28, White, 0, 63, 34

        Effects > 3DEffects > Drop Shadow

           Settings: 2, 2, 50, 5, Black

            Repeat with -2, -2

 

15.  On Raster 1 (your main image)

        Add a Drop Shadow of choice

          Suggeston: 4, 4, 50, 5, Black

 

        Layers > Merge > Merge All

        Image > Add Borders   1 pixel of black

 

        Layers > New Raster Layer

        Add your watermark in your usual way

 

        File > Export > JPEG Optimizer

           Setting: 25%

 

16.  Optional

        If you would like to create a background using one of the

        patterns I created, open background pattern_2

 

        Layers > Promote Background Layer

 

       Image > Resize

        Settings: 400 x 400 pixels, lock aspect ratio not checked

       Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling

         Default settings

 

       Layers > New Raster Layer

       Use Flood Fill Tool to fill with foreground color.

       In Layer Palette, set Blend Mode on Luminance Legacy

 

       In Layer Palette, select Raster 2

       Adjust opacity to your liking  (I used 67%)

       Layers > Merge > Merge Visible or Merge All
